#Prince of persia trilogy series#
I tried the souls series but the only one I liked was Sekiro, the others were slow and somewhat frustating. Last game I had fun was RE2 Remake- that was good with tight gameplay and a perfect game length, it wasn't something top tier for me but it was very enjoyable. There have been some good ones I think like DOOM 2016(which is still sitting unplayed in my steam library for some reason) but there is certainly a lack of such games. It's sure a huge leap forward but it's missing that pure fun factor that comes with games. The other games I mentioned were very fun to play too.Ĭut to the present day and we have eye popping graphics and a cinematic way of storytelling in games by lengthy cutscenes and huge worlds. On top of that a well fleshed out story, though as not as great as some other games was still quite good. The wall running, the Dahaka chase sequences, the sword combos, secret locations, time recap etc were so good game mechanics that the fun was always there. Playing POP WW with Godsmack playing the background(I discovered the name of the band later ) was the ultimate gaming experience for me. Games like Max Payne 1&2, GTA SA&4(waaaay better than GTA 5 imo), Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones - now this was the perfect trilogy for me. I remember the good days of the 2000's where most of the games were engaging, unique and being the perfect length. But apart from those nothing else has really hooked me, you know, the sheer excitement of playing on and on for days without losing interest. The last open world game I really enjoyed was Fallout 4.Also, I still play Skyrim from time to time and there's Witcher 3 which has brilliant story but I lose interest in it after finishing a few quests. Not saying it's a bad thing, it's just not fun to me anymore. Long, massive open-world games which take well over 50 hours to finish was a very good idea when it was new, but now it's just too much with every game basically in the same repetitive format. But recently, I have started enjoying gaming a lot less than I used to, and it's not because I lost interest in gaming, it's cause of the type of games coming out. So I have been a gamer basically all my life.
